Great Days
Some days are just great. Nothing terribly eventful or noteworthy but great
in peace, joy, ease and settlement. Great in assurance and knowing that God is in control and what happens is always for our good whether we
recognize or accept it. Sometimes it is a matter of taking the blinders off
our eyes. Then, we can see...to see. With a clear vision we realize that
God is in control and that it is His plans-His will that is at work.
1. Why do we sometimes fail to see the big picture?
2. What can we do to rid the frustration when life doesn't turn out the way
we "plan it?"
3. Consider a situation in your own life that has plagued you and as a result
has kept you from enjoying a few "great days." How can you improve
the circumstances?

Poetry Corner
Summertime is here...
Renewal and healing take time...not only for human beings but for nature as well. Here are a few poems to read as we welcome summertime and its lusciously warm entrance.
You Matter
Wherever your courage is
Call it forth
Wherever your voice is
Speak it out
Use your hands to touch
Use your heart to heal
Shout if you must be heard
But never my dear, stand still
There is power in you
There is power in us
I stand with you
Hold on to love
Your life matters
Your words matter
Your beauty creates
Hold on to love
Hoh Rainforest
Breathtaking moss
Gigantic sitka spruce
Douglas fir tree
Elk on our trail
We were ants,
Your beauty humbled us—
Made us one.
Guessing
The sky is gray
Snow falls intermittently
Inconveniently on my head
Don’t like to get wet
I look spotty
What can I do?
Clouds are playing guessing
Games…
Where is spring?
Yes, I need the sun
It calls me often, early
like morning mountain shadows
mild wind blowing
my life stands still
waters moving
my life stands still
sun calls again
my legs, arms
all of me
my life moves...
again.
